Yesterday Mike Davis and I did a marathon session, which resulted in a new song for him. A couple of months back Mike came breezing into my studio with a new song. It was really simple, he said, and would be a doddle to record. And so another week starts reasonably auspiciously. Chloe was here this afternoon, and worked extremely hard and productively. We, as often is the way these days, achieved a lot. And she will be back tomorrow as a pupil of Professor Jon's Academy of Young ladies,for an English lesson and possibly some filming for the new series of OTT. Oh, happy days. Today's song of the day for both Gonzo and CFZ is actually the first mainstream song to Include the word 'Fucking'. Check out who it is; I think you will be surprised.

It's Sunday, and mildly hungover, I sit at my computer
to write a page of stupid rhymes that I hope are going to suit ya
just like I do every week, but now I've got good news my friend
we can confirm that Syd and Bob are coming to the Weird Weekend

Syd telephoned me late last night whilst I was in my cups
and watching The X Files with Mama while taking frequent sups
from a very large brandy and coke I was holding in my hand
but after the horrible week I've had I hope you'll understand

I always write the Sunday blogs in badly metred verse,
mainly cos it amuses me (trust me it could be worse)
and then I take my Sunday off and believe me it suits
me to sit down and read a book or just look at my newts

So when I've done these Sunday blogs I may go back to bed
or I may sit in the garden and just read a book instead
or maybe go to Huddisford and take the dogs and Mother out
But I'm probably just going to doss around and do absolutely now't

Hi there, its me, yes I'm still alive
and yes I know its gone half past five
when usually on Sunday by half past two

But I have had a hell of a week
far too much for this particular freak
so last night I slept for fifteen hours straight
and didn't get up until frightfully late

And I was still drinking my wake up tea
when Saskia my student IMd me
and asked me if I could possibly guide her
through a college assignment on the Siberian Tiger

Well, I am very fond of that young lady
so I didn't say no and I didn't say maybe
I took a drag from my fag and said of course
I would help her study for her college course

So I did all that and I cuddled the dogs,
but now I am back to work on the blogs
it'll be stupidly late when I finish them all
but it is the Lord's Day after all

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have no doubt noticed that today's notifications are going out about twelve hours earlier than usual. There is a simple reason for this. Corinna has a cold and would like to take as much of the weekend off as possible, whereas I have music to record, books to read, dogs to play with and a hedgehog hutch to supervise the construction of. So we are trying to clear our collective desks as quickly as possible so that we can take as much of the weekend for ourselves as we possibly can!

The latest issue of Gonzo Weekly is very nearly here, and will soon be available to read at www.gonzoweekly.com. It has the lovely Pam Windo on the front cover and features an interview with her by yours truly. We also have news of Galahad's new bass player (who is actually their old bass player), Corky Laing gets an award, and a lot of people panic about Yes' lead singer's throat.  There are also new shows from the peculiar multiverse of Sub Reality Sandwich, from Friday Night Progressive, and from the multi-talented Neil Nixon at Strange Fruit and a collection of more news, reviews, views, interviews and high-heeled shoes (OK, no specialist footwear, but I got carried away with things that rhymed with OOOOS) than you can shake a stick at. This is going to be one of those weeks in which, if everything does actually go according to plan, then we shall achieve very great things. If it doesn't then it will all go horribly wrong. I have Intern #1 (Sheri from a college in Yorkshire) here until Thursday morning and Intern #2 (Saskia from a college in North Devon) here tomorrow and Wednesday. I also believe that Intern-in-waiting #1 (Saskia's younger brother) will be accompanying her. Hopefully they will make great strides in sorting out the conservatory. In the meantime, Graham has just finished the edit of Hawkwind live in Seaton six weeks ago, and I must say that I am massively impressed by what he has achieved. It looks great!

Sunday morning, I don't feel right
cos I was up for half the night
it may sound weird but its not funny
i was nursing a bulldog with an upset tummy

Twice in the night my darling Pru
woke up and urgently needed to poo
so I crept downstairs and let her out

and then crept back upstairs and went back to bed
Pru went back to sleep. I lay awake instead

So here I sit, in confusion, shaking my head.

It is not my forte to write as a poet
And once you have read this, you sure will know it
But I hope you will give me at least eight out of ten
For trying at least. I would be happy then.

It is two in the morning, I thought you should know
I've been yawning for hours, it's really time I should go
to sleep with the dogs, and cats, in a huddle.
