The Gonzo Daily: Friday/Saturday
Corinna took Carl back to the bus station this morning. He has accomplished
a heck of a lot here in the last week, and we are both looking forward to his
return in a couple of weeks. Graham has reached as far North as Salem, Oregon
(having driven 1,200 miles).
Everyone seems to be so easily offended these days; the latest (or at least
ONE of the latest) things being an American teenage girl being accused of
'Cultural Appropriation' for wearing clothes of a Chinese design as a prom
dress. So bloody what? It doesn't matter, and I feel very sorry for the
lass.
If I were truly paranoid, rather than just being sort-of paranoid I would
draw the implication that the powers that be, or at least some powers that be,
are encouraging people to get all hot and bothered about all sorts of things
that don’t matter, purely to distract the rest of us from the things that
actually do matter.
Changing the subject completely, is there anyone reading this who has any
experience in coding apps? Even more importantly, if you do, would you be
prepared to lend your expertise to us for a few hours? Email me please at

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an
old hippy of 58 who - together with a Jack Russell called Archie, an infantile
orange cat named after a song by Frank Zappa, and two half grown kittens, one
totally coincidentally named after one of the Manson Family, purely because she
squeaks, puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown
cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish. He is ably
assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly
mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we
mention Archie and the Cats?
