WELCOME TO THE CFZ BLOG NETWORK: COME AND JOIN THE FUN

Half a century ago, Belgian Zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans first codified cryptozoology in his book On the Track of Unknown Animals.

The Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ) are still on the track, and have been since 1992. But as if chasing unknown animals wasn't enough, we are involved in education, conservation, and good old-fashioned natural history! We already have three journals, the largest cryptozoological publishing house in the world, CFZtv, and the largest cryptozoological conference in the English-speaking world, but in January 2009 someone suggested that we started a daily online magazine! The CFZ bloggo is a collaborative effort by a coalition of members, friends, and supporters of the CFZ, and covers all the subjects with which we deal, with a smattering of music, high strangeness and surreal humour to make up the mix.

It is edited by CFZ Director Jon Downes, and subbed by the lovely Lizzy Bitakara'mire (formerly Clancy), scourge of improper syntax. The daily newsblog is edited by Corinna Downes, head administratrix of the CFZ, and the indexing is done by Lee Canty and Kathy Imbriani. There is regular news from the CFZ Mystery Cat study group, and regular fortean bird news from 'The Watcher of the Skies'. Regular bloggers include Dr Karl Shuker, Dale Drinnon, Richard Muirhead and Richard Freeman. The CFZ bloggo is updated daily, and there's nothing quite like it anywhere else. Come and join us...

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN GETS ON WITH IT

The Gonzo Daily: Monday/Tuesday
And so the game continues: a clouded leopard escapes in Cornwall, we are gifted an incredibly generous gift of books (which Carl M will be bringing down), computers aren't doing quite what they are supposed to be doing, and neither are some of my associates, although I would like to say publically how excellent both Graham and Charlotte were filming last week. Special praise to Charlotte because although Graham has been doing stuff like this (scriptless filming with impromptu and alfresco interviews) for at leasta quarter of a century, it was Charlotte's first time, and she was magnificent!
Forgive me for always banging on about our webTV show, but it matters a lot to me, and I would be grateful for as many people as possible to see it, and spread the tidings of it far and wide:

CRYPTOLINK: Cornish clouded leopard (via Olivia)

A word about cryptolinks: we are not responsible for the content of cryptolinks, which are merely links to outside articles that we think are interesting (sometimes for the wrong reasons), usually posted up without any comment whatsoever from me.

A clouded leopard, like the one pictured, went missing in Cornwall
Stephen Walter 14 JANUARY 2018 • 9:35 PM

A pet leopard escaped and hunted sheep as it ran free for a week in Cornish countryside, it emerged yesterday as the animal's killing spree only ended by a farmer and his fox traps.

The clouded leopard, usually found in the Himalayan foothills, was snared after killing some of the farmer's sheep.

Officers attended and said the big cat had escaped from a nearby enclosure and the owner was trying to find it.

It may not be as glamorous as the Loch Ness monster but South Lismore locals reckon they have their own mysterious 'monster' living in the Duck Pond. A number of witnesses have reported seeing what they believe to be a juvenile bull shark swimming about in the relatively shallow pond at the ...
