day in 1897 Enid Blyton was born. Blyton was a children’s author whose books
often painted a dystopian view of Britain where either the countryside was awash
with evil goblins and hideously deformed folk with faces the size of Moons or
towns where the local police force was either inept or corrupt so crimes would
only be solved by gangs of school children.
