WELCOME TO THE CFZ BLOG NETWORK: COME AND JOIN THE FUN

Half a century ago, Belgian Zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans first codified cryptozoology in his book On the Track of Unknown Animals.

The Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ) are still on the track, and have been since 1992. But as if chasing unknown animals wasn't enough, we are involved in education, conservation, and good old-fashioned natural history! We already have three journals, the largest cryptozoological publishing house in the world, CFZtv, and the largest cryptozoological conference in the English-speaking world, but in January 2009 someone suggested that we started a daily online magazine! The CFZ bloggo is a collaborative effort by a coalition of members, friends, and supporters of the CFZ, and covers all the subjects with which we deal, with a smattering of music, high strangeness and surreal humour to make up the mix.

It is edited by CFZ Director Jon Downes, and subbed by the lovely Lizzy Bitakara'mire (formerly Clancy), scourge of improper syntax. The daily newsblog is edited by Corinna Downes, head administratrix of the CFZ, and the indexing is done by Lee Canty and Kathy Imbriani. There is regular news from the CFZ Mystery Cat study group, and regular fortean bird news from 'The Watcher of the Skies'. Regular bloggers include Dr Karl Shuker, Dale Drinnon, Richard Muirhead and Richard Freeman. The CFZ bloggo is updated daily, and there's nothing quite like it anywhere else. Come and join us...

I'M YER GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN

And it is Thursday here at the Gonzo Daily. It doesn't seem that we left here a whole week ago for our journey to Lancashire. There is something massively weird about that. Despite today being Midsummer's Day, it is cold and grey outside with drizzle and cloud. So, I am quite happy to stay inside doing Gonzostuff.

Our first post today is a real exclusive; the first part of an in-depth interview with the lovely Helen McCookerybook. We were supposed to be talking about her new CD with Martin Stephenson, and ended up talking about Vi Subversa of 'The Posion Girls'. C'est la vie:

Next: Why is our beloved leader looking like he is part of some horrific biological experiment? Has he been kidnapped by aliens? No, its worse than that...

There is some exciting news for fans of original Yes vocalist Jon Anderson. Some new music is on its way including a sequel to his legendary first solo album from over thirty years ago. You want to know what happens next in the story of Olias of Sunhillow? Well, you are about to find out...

Michael Des Barres is one of our favourite artists here at Gonzo Daily, and we are all awaiting his new album 'Carnaby Street', with great relish...

Mimi Page is a clever and literate artiste. She is also somewhat of a polymath as this remarkable remix of one of the tracks on her new Gonzo CD, shows:

Martin Stephenson came to prominence as head honcho of The Daintees about thirty years ago. The latest album is magnificent and it seems that it is not just us who think so:
