On this day in 2002 Carmen Silvera died. Silvera is best known for her portrayal of Edith Artois in Allo Allo, a comedy which just so happens to be the funniest show the BBC have ever created.
(Note for fact fans: the accordion in the Allo Allo theme tune was actually played by Michael Jackson, of Thriller and Smooth Criminal fame who was a big fan of Lloyd's previous project Captain Beaky & His Band (Not Forgetting Hissing Sid!!!) under the condition that his involvement was kept secret)

In November Sahar Dimus, our guide on four CFZ Sumatra expeditions, died of liver failure leaving a widow Lucy and four Children. On the 2nd November, Dezyama D. Sangma, wife of our friend and colleague Dipu Marak, our collaborator on the 2010 Indian expedition died, leaving her grieving husband and two small children.
