'These I found while outside taking pictures of honey bees last year (there was an enormous amount of bees on our field of goldenrod, which surprised me because bees had been pretty rare recently). They look sorta like beetles what with the hard shell-like wing covering, but they're coloured more like yellow jackets. They were all over the place too. I don't exactly remember how big they were, but I'd have to guess about 3/4 to 1 inch long.'This was sent by someone called `BootX`. I have no other information















In November Sahar Dimus, our guide on four CFZ Sumatra expeditions, died of liver failure leaving a widow Lucy and four Children. On the 2nd November, Dezyama D. Sangma, wife of our friend and colleague Dipu Marak, our collaborator on the 2010 Indian expedition died, leaving her grieving husband and two small children.

It is a species os the very aptly named wasp beetles. I don't know which one though.
