I have known Richard Muirhead longer than I have known anybody else in the world to whom I am not related by blood. My mother and his were friends in Hong Kong in the late 1960s, and when I first met him I was eleven and he was six. We lost contact for many years, but when we met up again in the early 1990s we found – synchronitically – that in the meantime we had both become fascinated by cryptozoology and allied Fortean disciplines. And we have kept in contact ever since!
Some years ago, he started a small press magazine of his own, called Flying Snake, which is a wondrous grab bag of quasi-Fortean odds and ends; the sort of magazine you can open at random, and always find something new, or at least a tasty intellectual titbit with which to whet one’s imagination.
I have been meaning to do this for a long time, but as regular CFZ watchers will know, life has not been particularly easy over the past few years. However, we are very proud to announce the first volume in a series of collected editions of Flying Snake, herewith for your edification, education, and entertainment.
Enjoy.
