TODAY'S BIG CAT NEWS ROUNDUP
The hunt for British Big Cats attracts far more newspaper-column inches than any other cryptozoological subject. There are so many of them now that we feel that they should be archived by us in some way, so we should have a go at publishing a regular round-up of the stories as they come in. In September 2012 Emma Osborne decided that the Mystery Cat Study Group really deserved a blog of its own within the CFZ Blog Network.

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES
In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna took the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN LIKES CORVIDS
The baby rook is looking as if it is
probably a baby crow, because it hops rather than walks and because crows are
more subject to partial albinism than rooks. He (actually we have no idea what
gender it is) is a striking looking creature; the partial albinism makes him
look as if someopne has spattered him with a bottle of tippex. I have also
joined the 21st Century and bought myself an e-book reader, mainly because it
was under thirty quid at Asda. I have loaded it up with a couple of manuscripts
I have to read, some P.G.Wodehouse e-books, and Penny Rimbaud's 'A Series of
Shock Slogans and Mindless Token Tantrums', and I am all set to go away on
Thursday.
* The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 53 who - together with his orange cat (who is currently on sick leave in Staffordshire) and two very small kittens (one of whom is also orange) puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish, and sometimes a small Indian frog. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?

GLEN VAUDREY: Cryptozoology on the radio
Every Saturday night between 11-12pm you can hear a feature
on mystery animals on BBC Radio Scotland as part of the Morton through
Midnight show. The feature is entitled Morton’s Mystery Creatures and each week it looks at mystery
creature sighting from Scotland.
One witness who had more than one sighting of the phantom hound was Dr Reginald MacDonald as he travelled to see his patients. Sadly for those patients traditionally a sighting of this animal was said to announce a death.
You don’t have to live in Scotland to hear this
show as you can listen to it on line for up to 7 days after the broadcast.
Why not follow this link Morton through Midnight to have a listen to it, you will find that the feature appears at 1hr 28mins 38 seconds into the show.

Last Saturday’s mystery creature was the black dog of Ardura, this phantom hound was recorded to haunt the area around Lochbuie
house on the isle of Mull.
