WELCOME TO THE CFZ BLOG NETWORK: COME AND JOIN THE FUN

Half a century ago, Belgian Zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans first codified cryptozoology in his book On the Track of Unknown Animals.

The Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ) are still on the track, and have been since 1992. But as if chasing unknown animals wasn't enough, we are involved in education, conservation, and good old-fashioned natural history! We already have three journals, the largest cryptozoological publishing house in the world, CFZtv, and the largest cryptozoological conference in the English-speaking world, but in January 2009 someone suggested that we started a daily online magazine! The CFZ bloggo is a collaborative effort by a coalition of members, friends, and supporters of the CFZ, and covers all the subjects with which we deal, with a smattering of music, high strangeness and surreal humour to make up the mix.

It is edited by CFZ Director Jon Downes, and subbed by the lovely Lizzy Bitakara'mire (formerly Clancy), scourge of improper syntax. The daily newsblog is edited by Corinna Downes, head administratrix of the CFZ, and the indexing is done by Lee Canty and Kathy Imbriani. There is regular news from the CFZ Mystery Cat study group, and regular fortean bird news from 'The Watcher of the Skies'. Regular bloggers include Dr Karl Shuker, Dale Drinnon, Richard Muirhead and Richard Freeman. The CFZ bloggo is updated daily, and there's nothing quite like it anywhere else. Come and join us...

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN IS PRUNING

The Gonzo Daily - Sunday

It's December now and I'm feeling old
and worst of all I have a cold
and you know what makes it really poo
poor Corinna has one too

Some Sundays I do stuff instead
but today I'll be going back to bed
but first I'll have an amusing time
writing the Gonzo blogs in rhyme

We'll start off (cos he least expects us)
with a poem from my mate in Texas
Thom writes lines you can't dismiss
not stupid doggerel like this
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/12/eric-burdon-paris-olympia-2013.html

Now there's something here to lay before ya
a track by the great Melting Euphoria
space rock supreme that's what I say
it's my Gonzo Track of the Day
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-gonzo-track-of-day-melting-euphoria.html

Eric Burdon is in the news
after 50 years of singing blues
he's leading us a merry dance
here's a review of him in France
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/12/thom-world-poet-daily-poem.html

Rick Wakeman is a damn good bloke
and all his capes they are bespoke
he does a lot for charity
he's at this awards ceremony
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/12/rick-wakeman-to-attend-award-ceremony.html

The Bad Shepherds are a damn good band
Viv from the Young Ones needed a hand
who did he ask, (it wasn't me)
T'was our own Troy Donockly
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/12/far-more-than-comedians-vanity-project.html

And finally (I've seen them gig)
here's a review from Blodwyn pig
a review of their new CD
a little thing for you from me
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/11/blodwyn-pig-review_30.html

And that is enough rhymes for now
we'll be back again next week (and how)
