STV have reported on several Nessie sightings over the years, but never quite managed to find the conclusive proof that we've all been waiting for. So you can imagine our enthusiasm when white witch Kevin Carlyon announced that he was to blame for her absence back in 2003.
In our daily Pick of the Archives, Carlyon reveals that he'd
cast a spell on Nessie in 2001, to protect her from Swedish scientists. Fortunately for Nessie, the spell was a complete success – the
Swedes found nothing in the Loch's otherwise tranquil waters – but in 2003 Kevin
decided that he may have gone a bit too far. "I'm very confident," he said at the time. "I think last time
my spell worked a little bit too good and she's disappeared altogether. I do
have a very good success rate. "On this occasion, and the last time, I do feel there is
something in that loch, be it a ghost, spirit or a physical creature."
