WELCOME TO THE CFZ BLOG NETWORK: COME AND JOIN THE FUN

Half a century ago, Belgian Zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans first codified cryptozoology in his book On the Track of Unknown Animals.

The Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ) are still on the track, and have been since 1992. But as if chasing unknown animals wasn't enough, we are involved in education, conservation, and good old-fashioned natural history! We already have three journals, the largest cryptozoological publishing house in the world, CFZtv, and the largest cryptozoological conference in the English-speaking world, but in January 2009 someone suggested that we started a daily online magazine! The CFZ bloggo is a collaborative effort by a coalition of members, friends, and supporters of the CFZ, and covers all the subjects with which we deal, with a smattering of music, high strangeness and surreal humour to make up the mix.

It is edited by CFZ Director Jon Downes, and subbed by the lovely Lizzy Bitakara'mire (formerly Clancy), scourge of improper syntax. The daily newsblog is edited by Corinna Downes, head administratrix of the CFZ, and the indexing is done by Lee Canty and Kathy Imbriani. There is regular news from the CFZ Mystery Cat study group, and regular fortean bird news from 'The Watcher of the Skies'. Regular bloggers include Dr Karl Shuker, Dale Drinnon, Richard Muirhead and Richard Freeman. The CFZ bloggo is updated daily, and there's nothing quite like it anywhere else. Come and join us...

I'M THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN

Its sunday, so again its time
to do Gonzo Daily in rhyme,
at least this index list of news
and video clips and reviews

So we start of with a Hawkwind vid,
filmed by Graham back when he did
a trip to Southampton to see the band
and for once it didn't get out of hand:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/exclusive-hawkwind-in-southampton.html

And now we have for you part three,
of a chat between Judge Smith and me,
about airship song-stories, and - you know -
an opera 'bout Edgar Allan Poe:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/exclusive-judge-smith-interview-part.html

It wouldn't be sunday in the Gonzo biz,
without a review of our Auburn Liz
still the only one I find,
who writes poetry in response to mine:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/link-aubur-reviewed-track-by-track.html

And also on the Gonzo stage
is a great review of Mimi Page,
going track by track through her CD,
I wish that had occurred to me
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/link-mimi-page-review.html

And now I think that you should look
at this review of Dan Wooding's book,
about Rick Wakeman, you will see
its an article about Space Oddity:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/link-leave-it-to-me-rick-wakemans.html

And finally if you're really hip
you'll want to see Jefferson Starship,
and you'll really want to see them more
when you read about their UK Tour:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/jefferson-starship-uk-tour-dates.html

And finally, my Gonzo friends,
here's a head's up about next weekend,
the blog will continue (way hay)
even though I'll be away,
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/06/brief-parish-notice.html

now I don't want you lot getting cross,
but my mate Graham will be the boss,
although the postings will be on time,
the notifications won't be in rhyme.
