'By the way Jon, I have problems viewing photo's etc on your blog. Has anyone else reported problems? It started when java updated itself a few months back. I just get placeholders instead of pictures or videos. It only happens with the CFZ site. I wondered if one of the I.T. geeks had changed some settings?'
On another subject (that of shameless self congratulation), I want to pat ourselves on the back for having reached over 1500 blog posts now, and despite the fact that viewing numbers are down from the peak of a few weeks ago at the height of the Peruvian snake saga, we are still getting 20,000 a week (which is about what we got on the first three and a half years of the blog combined)....
At this rate we will be getting a hit-rate of over a million a year, which ain't too shabby. But we will have some more if people like Steve could see the pictures. C'mon techies....

What operating system are you using, what web browser and what version of Java plugin is your web browser using? Secondly, what antivirus are you using (if applicable; my Linux kit doesn't need antivirus) and what firewalling and advert-blocking plugins do you have (if any)?
Any of these could be causing the problem.
Try right-clicking on the area where the images should be to see if this reveals any information; that might give you a clue too.
If your using 'Internet Explorer 8' with vile 'Vista' that could be part if not all of the problem.
Until a few months ago when my lap top died, I was using IE7 with XP and had no trouble with this site.
Since getting a new computer running under 'Vista' and preloaded with IE8, I have had nothing but problems with the CFZ and a few other sites. I have been totally unable to comment on Blog articles here, some times pictures and videos have not displayed here or elsewhere. This and a few other web sites have crashed when I have switched from page to page.
Now everything in the garden is looking rosy again and all I did was kick out IE8 and install Firefox.
