After my adventures on saturday, and considering that it snowed again yesterday morning I was anticipating a thrilling tale of snowy derring-do as Graham and I drove to Barnstaple yesterday to finish the Christmas shopping. But we were pre-empted by the road gritters, and it was a very dull and staid trip. HOWEVER SCROLL DOWN...
You will remember that I wrote the other day that Prudence didn't like the snow. Well, she has changed her mind, and while we were gone, she and Corinna had a great time in the garden...
It appears that this particular bulldog likes the snow

Looks like spring time. We just got maybe 5 inches -- but the blizzard a couple weeks ago was crazy. My dad got stuck three times in one day and had to be towed out each time. The last time he left his car and he couldn't get back to the house as our access road was snowed in. I found him on his knees in the snow, with the chills, too weak to get up. So I flagged down the neighbors driving by and he spent the night in the hospital to recover. 2 inches an hour overnight makes a lot of snow fast.
When I lived in a cabin in Alaska just south of Denali we had six feet of snow by December -- it started in early Oct. Yeah I had the snow shoes out to break trail for the sled dogs.

This time last year we had about two feet of snow on the ground.
