CRYPTOLINK: Jersey Devil spotted in, yep, New Jersey

A word about cryptolinks: we are not responsible for the content of cryptolinks, which are merely links to outside articles that we think are interesting (sometimes for the wrong reasons), usually posted up without any comment whatsoever from me.

As legendary creatures go, you have your A-listers like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, your mythical stock characters like dragons, griffins, werewolves, mermaids and so forth, and then your regional curiosities like Chupacabras. Somewhere far below all of those you have New Jersey’s own local legend: The Jersey Devil.
Rumored to be a bat-winged creature with cloven hooves prone to stealing livestock and basically creeping everybody out, the Devil has long cursed the Pine Barrens region of southern New Jersey and lent unholy powers to its hockey teams.
