OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today

On this day in 1882 renowned photographer Sir Malcolm Heinrich Selfie invented the photographic technique that would come to bear his name. The 'Selfie' was actually invented purely by chance as he tried to take a photograph of his cat who was looking in a mirror at the time for Punch (he had intended to place a humorous caption under the picture where the cat requested a beef stew). So proud was he of his invention that he chose the anniversary of it's discovery to wed his childhood sweetheart Dame Carla Duckface.
