OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today


On this day in 1605 Guido Fawkes was arrested in the cellars of the Houses of Parliament while stockpiling explosives in an attempt to blow it up. There is an old joke about how he was the only person ever to enter Parliament with honest intentions but as he was a mercenary with little interest in parliament but probably more interest in getting paid a lot of money to kill many people and make the lives of those he didn't kill miserable just to further his own cause at the expense of others, he was just like your average Tory MP really.
