I'M YER GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN

Yesterday was one of those days that I prefer to gloss over. I felt terrible, and slept most of the day. Today, however, is shaping up to be quite a nice one, with the lovely Ms H due to arrive later on, and yours truly feeling remarkably sane and well.

I have been snooping around the Internet on and off over the past twenty-four hours, and I have found all sorts of interesting things. Like this snippet of studio activity from the ever awesome 'Asia featuring John Payne'.

The Grande Fromage, Terry Christian, and an 80s neo-psychedelic legend go out on the lash. And they didn't invite yours truly. Bah! That's another bottle of Asda budget bourbon you owe me, Ayling.

Another visit to the universe of Thom the World Poet.

A link to an amusing piece of speculation about what would have happened if NASA had sent Hawkwind recordings out into space on Voyager 1 and 2

The comings and goings within the Yes camp are never less than fascinating, but the progress of the ongoing collaboration between Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin is completely enthralling.

The Who have always been one of my favourite bands, and the news that there is an all-star tribute record in the works, is exciting - the fact that one of the aforementioned stars is our own Rick Wakeman is totally far out!

Most of you know that my day job is the Director of the Centre for Fortean Zoology; the world's largest cryptozoological research organisation. An awful lot of what we have been doing in recent years has been using cryptozoology as a gateway through which kids who are increasingly divorced from the reality of the natural world can discover the joys of nature. I recently heard about an organisation who are doing the same thing, but with music...and Michael Des Barres is involved!

Look what I found on Michael Des Barres' Facebook page. I hope it means what I think it means.

The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...
