OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today

http://cryptozoologynews.blogspot.com/

On this day in 2008 Sir Edmund Hillary died. Hillary, along with Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, mounted the first successful expedition to the summit of Mount Everest. Hillary also had an interest in the Yeti, although he eventually concluded that it was not a flesh and blood creature but rather a spiritual belief or maybe an entity revered by the Sherpas and others in the local area. The summit may have been reached by Mallory in 1924 but as both Mallory and his climbing partner Irvine both died on the mountain before their return to base their attempt on the summit will never be regarded as successful even if Mallory’s camera is found with a photo of him dancing the hornpipe on the summit. Sad, but those are the rules apparently.
