To quote your blurb: "The point of the posting was to illustrate the reactions to out-of-place animals across the globe, not to be judgemental, so the people who made comments like 'Its a Plecostomus you stupid idiots' are not only ill-mannered oafs, but missed the point entirely."

Well, yes and no. The people who DID say "It's a Plecostomus you stupid idiots" certainly ALSO have their point, the point being that it's not CRYPTOZOOLOGICAL, it's a known species. So for that much, the reaction IS justified. The anger comes from far too much media hype over such things as reports of stray pet black leopards in the UK or Australia when all they are of course is stray pet exotics. They are still not CRYPTOZOOLOGICAL. And some people dislike being told there is a mystery when there is actually no mystery. It's also like all of those "Chupacabras" reports turning out to be mangy dogs. After a while a reader DOES tend to be a mite irritated at it all.

So it is also quite permissible to say (ahem) that you have missed the point entirely as well, were that to be put the most polite way possible of course. And I DO mean this in the most polite way possible.

    Best Wishes, Dale D.

  2. Yes, indeed they have a point. But unlike you and me Dale, they need to learn some manners. There are appropriate ways to disagree with someone, and inappropriate ones. I would hope that all our bloggofolk behave like ladies and gentlemen at all times...
