I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THIS WILL ANNOY GRAHAM OR NICK REDFERN MOST (Whatever happened to never trusting hippies)

Carrying on with our completely on-topic (for a blog dealing with cryptozoology) look at silver machines and their covers...

Oh Graham. What have you started?

  2. While far from good, that was a definite improvement on Hawkwind.s

  3. Good stuff. I knew they'd covered 'Silver Machine' but I hadn't seen it before. If you want weird covers of Hawkwind, how about Matthew Wright's show on Channel Five this morning?

He got his barbershop quartet guests to sing, "it's the right stuff, baby, the right stuff..." - the chorus from the old Bob Calvert number!

James Last's version was feckin' brilliant. More than a match for Lemmy & Co. But Johnny Rotten is, quite frankly, an awful pantomime dame — Lydon's antics may have been inspirational for me as a young teenage outsider, for which I'm grateful, but I wasn't old or wise enough to know what a prick he actually is. But then again, I suppose our concerns should be about the performance and not the fallible performers.
