I AM SORRY THAT TODAY'S BLOGGO IS SO LATE...

..but Corinna and I have both been laid low with what we suspect is swine flu, and Corinna in particular has been quite unwell. However, I am on the mend, and am doing my best to nurse her back to health, and normal service will be resumed in a day or two. (Or at least, I sincerely hope so)

  1. You do not look well. Are you sure those were badger tracks and not infected swine tracks in your garden?

Mind you, they could also be the tracks of the Spotted and Herbaceous Backson (see Winnie-the-Pooh) which can also be a carrier.

There is no doubt that the H1N1 variant of flu is about and active this winter; a friend of mine is currently suffering from it, as diagnosed by Bolton hospital. He's in their intensive care unit last thing I heard, though there is a lot else wrong with him apart from a flu infection.

On the bright side, this flu seem pretty well co-evolved to infecting people; a more recent jump from birds into mammals would be much more deadly. I just hope I don't catch it, I've already had a dose of food poisoning this Christmas and flu would be most unfortunate.

  3. We have it too, missed Curved Air, Argent and Wishbone Ash because of it. Oh well.

Keep warm, drink lots of liquid and hopefully you both get better soon.
