BEAR ATTACK: STRANGE STORY ON NEIL'S BLOG

The Sheerness Times Guardian of Thursday 25th June 2009:

From Our Files

50 years ago...A Sheerness man attacked by a bear as he slept was refusing to talk to reporters. He was humiliated by the deep scratches to his head, hands and face, which were caused by a honey bear, the same size as a child's teddy bear....

  1. A "honey bear" isn't a bear.

    It's a procyonid.

    We call them kinkajous.

And they are normally quite placid as pets. And they are teddy bear sized.

However, they have been known to attack their owners rather savagely.

They are also nocturnal, which explains why this attack happened while the person was sleeping.
