This is one of the most peculiar things that I have ever seen. The poor little chap is a hedgehog who, for some reason unknown to all, has lost his spines.I, for one, am quite surprised at how chunky the little fellow looks all naked, but I hope that those jolly nice people at St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital manage to sort out a cure for him....

I adore hedgehogs - they are such delightful little creatures. I'm so glad Spud was found and has a safe home.
ReplyDeleteGymnures or moon rats are sometimes called "hairy hedgehogs" and are a close relative to the spiny kind that we know and love, but of course they are not bald like poor old Spud.
