Some weeks ago Fleur got all emotional at writing about her feelings on handling the leg bone of a long extinct aurochs. Here is a long extinct British butterfly, and what makes it worse is that it is one of the few species, the extinction of which can be blamed largely on over collecting by zealous naturalists.
