...

This is a complete bloody nightmare, but maybe the letter below will do some good. The thing that really makes me angry is the fact that this could happen to anyone! In this instance I am a bloody-minded, relatively articulate and intelligent individual with a good support network of friends and colleagues, a loving (and solvent) wife, and enough sheer venom and determination to fight against it.

But what if I had not been? What would have happened if I was still manic-depressive, but living alone, with no money and no support? The DSS are no damn good, and the Heath Authority are overstretched and - despite everything - largely unaware of the reality of coping with bi-polar illnesses. The social services would be unable to help. If I were not in the fortunate position that I am, I would be facing homelessness and a life where my only valid option would to be drinking myself to death as I lived in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere.

My heart goes out to everyone else in this situation who ain't as fortunate as I am.

Again, thanks to everyone for their continued support..............

  1. I have been a follower of the CFZ for some years, but until today was content to sit back and watch the fun. But Jon's latest posts have made me sooooo angry i really have to comment.

These are people who have only ever tried to do good things for the fortean community, and for the community where they live. Everyone who has ever been to a weird weekend will know how much work they put in. Jon is active in work with kids and the local church, and they are all round good people.

How dare those filthy scumsuckers at the bank treat them like this?

But will a Tory MP do anything to help a self-proclaimed anarchist?

  2. Jon,

I sincerely hope this gets sorted out as I can wholly identify with what you're going through.
I too suffer from Bipolar Disorder, and get really frustrated by people who don't understand how the smallest stresses can affect me in a big way.
You sound like you're dealing with this corporate (w)banker's bullsh*t with a great deal of grace and civility and I hope they see the error of their ways.
Life is never easy, and is far too short to be dealing with idiocy on scale like this.

Willing you a quick solution and some peace.
