THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN ON JAPANESE TV

The Gonzo Daily - Monday

Prudence has been ill all weekend, and has been vomiting up everything she ate or drank. However, she hasn't been sick since yesterday afternoon (touch wood) and has finally got her appetite back, so things are looking up for her. Beth came along on Saturday with a pigeon that can't fly (no, boys and girls, not a dodo) which we hoped would be a companion for Martha who has become completely fixated on Corinna, and doesn't seem to realise that she is actually a bird. However, when we put the new pigeon into the cage, it turned out to be a male with the sexual proclivities of certain 1970s pop personalities (Martha not really being fledged yet, and being very much a juvenile) and we took him out immediately. The pigeon, now named 'Glitter', (because of his sparkling feathers, of course) has now been put into the main aviary. In other news we have a Japanese film crew due at 1:00 to ask me a series of questions about the yeti, and this week's issue of Gonzo Weekly is the most popular yet. Good-oh, eh chaps?

Ant-Bee, Jethro Tull, Dee Palmer, Lemmy, Frank Zappa, Astronomusic, Jon Anderson, Yes, Hawkwind, and Daevid Allen fans had better look out! The latest issue of Gonzo Weekly (#107) is available to read at www.gonzoweekly.com, and to download at http://www.gonzoweekly.com/pdf/.

It has Ant-Bee Billy James on the cover, and features an interview with him by Yours truly. Doug Harr interviews the legendary Dee Palmer, once of Jethro Tull and we send Astronomusic to a desert island. Jon looks at Lemmy's autobiographt, Hawkwind go to Japan, and we remember the great Frank Zappa. And there are also new shows from the multi-talented Neil Nixon at Strange Fruit and from M Destiny at Friday Night Progressive, and the titular submarine dwellers are back with another episode of Sub Reality Sandwich (except its not). There is also a collection of more news, reviews, views, interviews and anteaters wishing to snooze (OK, nothing to do with dozy edentates, but I got carried away with things that rhymed with OOOOS) than you can shake a stick at. And the best part is IT's ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

* The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

* The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link: www.gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/…/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit

* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 55 who - together with an infantile orange cat named after a song by Frank Zappa puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish, and sometimes a small Indian frog. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the infantile orange cat?
