THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN DOESN'T

The Gonzo Daily - 27th December
 
T'was the fifth day of Christmas, I'm sad to tell you,
that my intern Tamara's still shaking off 'flu,
it's nearly gone now, but don't think her pathetic
she's not coming in because I'm diabetic
 
yes, sad to admit I am one of those freaks
if I get an infection I keep it for weeks
so though she's got nothing but a deep chesty cough
darling Tamara's taking the day off
 
And on Gonzo today for you to ponder on
I'm reposting two virtual presents from Thom?
and why do I post them? Is it 'cos I don't care?
No my dears it's 'cos it's groovy to share
 
And what of today? What have I got ahead
Just my annual report for the CFZ
That I write every week at the end of the year
and this one's a hard one and the deadline is near
 
And apart from that there is lots more indeed
with letters to write and books I can read
in my armchair where I sit and cuddle the dogs
so I had better get on with it, and write these damn blogs

The latest issue (The Christmas DOUBLE issue - there won't be one next week) of Gonzo Weekly (#109/10) is available to read at www.gonzoweekly.com, and to download at http://www.gonzoweekly.com/pdf/. It has Yusuf and Stevie Wonder on the front cover,  and features gig reviews of both artists and Fleetwood Mac, my totally subjective top ten albums of the year, excerpts from books by Corky Laing, Merrell Fankhauser and Neil Nixon, interviews with Minstrel's Ghost about their new meisterwork based on the life of Jack the Ripper, and Sendelica, we send Tim Rundall to a desert island, and there are shows from the multi-talented Neil Nixon at Strange Fruit and from M Destiny at Friday Night Progressive, and the titular submarine dwellers are back with another episode of Sub Reality Sandwich (except its not). There is also a collection of more news, reviews, views, interviews and anteaters wishing to snooze (OK, nothing to do with dozy edentates, but I got carried away with things that rhymed with OOOOS) than you can shake a stick at. And the best part is IT's ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 55 who - together with an infantile orange cat named after a song by Frank Zappa puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish, and sometimes a small Indian frog. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the infantile orange cat?
