On this
day in 1853 the archaeologist, Flinders Petrie was born. Petrie's most famous
discovery was that of the Merneptah Stele in Thebes, the stele dates to around
1200 BC and contains the earliest known mention of of Israel.

Personally, I hope that in a few thousand years
the only recorded evidence of people in our era walking is the ministry of silly
walks sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus so that a pop group of the day
can make a song similar to this about “the stupid ages”:
