THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN SINGS

The Gonzo Daily - Wednesday

And so another day dawns. Graham came back last night. Neither Archie or I were feeling very good yesterday afternoon so we went to bed for a few hours. Whilst I was asleep, not only did Graham return from St Albans, but Prudence also decided she wanted an afternoon sleep, so I woke up amidst a pile of affectionate dogs. I am just waiting for Andrea to turn up with her conceptual secretary hat on, and I will be getting on with a whole slew of things that I really should have done ages ago. Graham is busily editing the Hawkwind film, and it is mother's turn to be surrounded by a pack of affectionate canids. The news about the air pollution scare in today's papers is worrying. The Independent writes: "“Very high” levels of air pollution over the next few days are prompting health concerns for vulnerable and elderly people, as the dust from the Saharan desert and winds combined to create a potentially "toxic" storm." As Olivia is pregnant lives in Norwich, and the pollution is particularly bad in East Anglia, Corinna and I are considerably concerned. We are living in strange times. On a brighter note, but still strange, so far this year there have been at least five sightings of large tortoiseshells, a butterfly which is supposedly extinct in the UK. Some of us believe that it is beginning to make a comeback.

After hours of messing about which nearly resulted in me reprogramming the computer with a hatchet, the new issue of Gonzo Weekly, in its swish new format, will be out imminently features interviews with Andy Colquhoun and Cyrille Verdeaux, a new video from Auburn, news from Acid Mothers Temple and the Dalai Lama. There are also features on Rocket Scientists, Clepsydra's private show, what happens when The Psychedelic Warlords collaborate with Michael Moorcock and a look at music written by Jews who died in the death camps. and more news, reviews, views, interviews and and London Zoos (OK, no metropolitan menageries, but I got carried away with things that rhymed with OOOOS) than you can shake a stick at. And the best part is IT's ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! We are also relaunching with a brand new layout and format for our 70th issue. We hope that you like it.

*  The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at  jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

*  The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link: www.gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/11/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit-to-print.html

* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

*  Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 54 who - together with an orange kitten named after a song by Frank Zappa puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish, and sometimes a small Indian frog. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange kitten?
