Last friday and into saturday, there was an identical carcass to this, at the side of the Moretonhampstead to Postbridge road, just before the Miniature Pony Centre.
I tried to stop (on Friday) in order to take a photo with my mobile phone, but the there was 4-5 inches of snow, making pulling over somewhat hazardous.
It was still there on the Saturday, however there were a couple of cars parked up besides it, and once again driving conditions were hazardous.
I did slow down for a good, long look, however, and it was evident it had been recently dragged/moved to it's position, as the intact head was resting on the road surface itself.
It had gone by Sunday, when I again drove that road. So there we are, can't provide a photo, but clearly others witnessed the stripped-clean carcass.
