On this day in 2008 Kermit Love died. Love was the co-creator of Big Bird and the creator of Mr Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street. Snuffleupagus originally started off in Sesame Street as a character unseen by adults and presumed imaginary friend of Big Bird but after 2000 or so episodes he was reviled in the flesh to adults because of concerns about paedophilia.
