MISSING FINGER FROM PANGBOCHE YETI HAND REDISCOVERED



According to the BBC:

The finger is of human origin, according to Dr Rob Jones, senior scientist at the Zoological Society of Scotland.

"We have got a very, very strong match to a number of existing reference sequences on human DNA databases.

"It's very similar to existing human sequences from China and that region of Asia but we don't have enough resolution to be confident of a racial identification."

    OK, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO,

    Exactly how near is the sample to modern human as a percentage basis? If we are saying 99% like modern humans, we are still in the Neanderthal range. To be really certain of that,the investigators have got to compare exactly equivalent stretches of DNA from the finger and fom previously-tested Neanderthal (Or Denisovian)

    Without that being done, we cannot say that the possibility has been ruled out.

    Incidentally, the role of Jimmy Stewart in this business seems to be diminished in each new retrelling of the story. Wasn't he supposed to have smuggled it out of the country in his wifes lingerie bag before, last telling?
