NEW ARRIVALS FOR OUR COOLWATER HONG KONG TANK

Taking White Cloud Mountain by Strategy

Our Hong Kong mixed coolwater tank has been a mixed success. Some fish have done well there - indeed thrived - whereas the others (notably the Oriental bitterlings that we set the tank up for in the beginning) have been far less succesful, and the swan mussels have been an unmitigated disaster. However, taking a new tack, we have introduced some more White Cloud Mountain minnows and two pairs of paradise fish to see what happens....

  1. To get the full effect of your childhood in Hong Kong, I'd get a Hodgson's porcupine.

I've read that a feral colony of them might exist near Dartmoor.

  2. Well Jon you have bone it as well here as the pet shop has white clouds in and im in the process of sneaking a small colony into the house and setting up another tank just for them. Wish me luck.

  3. I speak now as probably the only fish keeper in the world, who cannot manage to keep guppies & neon tetras alive.
I had a try at keeping White Cloud Mountain minnows some time back, but without success - they all seemed to think it was a great idea to die and become food for their tank mates within a couple of weeks.
