1. It is NOT a chupacabra 2. It is a dog of some kind, probably mostly coyote. We are in poll position to find out because we have its back leg and other bits in a freezer 3. If it is what I think it might be, it is evidence FOR not against evolution 4. If its not, it is a complex introgressive hybrid of known species 5. Some people are idiots
It seems that of late any mystery animal, regardless of identity, reported from a heavily Hispanic region or seen by a Hispanic person is automatically the Chupacabra, and it doesn't matter what it is. The Chupacabra, to me, is fast becoming another Jersey Devil. The funky little alien kangaroo thingy, mystery canines, birds and Bigfoot are all chalked up as the Chupacabra, which kind of discredits it, because people are going to get to a point where it seems that any animal whose appearance is so mutable has to be a fraud. Fact is it's only because of witness and media error that it *does* seem mutable. Ironic to me that the "core" Chupacabra, the alien kangaroo, doesn't seem to have been reported for quite some time.
