THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN IS BACK ONLINE

The Gonzo Daily - Sunday
It's time to write my rhymes again
because on Sunday it's what I do
so when I've done the blogs I take my pen
and write more doggerel for you
Why? You want to know (I'll tell you)
It's cos it amuses me
and so without further ado
let's do the blogs with poetry
Jon Anderson The Prog Rock Magus
has been out raiding the rock vault
in a show that's headlining Las Vegas
and he's spot-on without a fault
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/10/jon-anderson-raids-rock-vault.html
And now it's time (I bet you know it)
to go down to Austin town
to meet my mate Thom the World Poet
who always knows what's going down
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/10/thom-world-poet-daily-poem_12.html
And now a bizarre little Movie
which I will watch most blisfully
it looks fab and far out and groovy
'bout when Zappa went to Sicily
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/10/trailer-summer-82-when-frank-zappa-came.html
And now our friend Michael Des Barres
being broadcast on the radio
interviewing his ex Miss Pamela
they're still really good freinds don't you know
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-michael-des-barres-show-10-10-13.html
And finally the Gonzo Track of the Day
is the answer to our prayers
you know what I mean, OK?
its a brilliant song by Kevin Ayers

And that's enough from this rhyming freak
the poems will be back next week...
*  The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at  jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

*  The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/11/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit-to-print.html
* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

*  Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 54 who - together with his orange cat (who is currently on sick leave in Staffordshire) and two very small kittens (one of whom is also orange) puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out-of-place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna took the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

TODAY'S BIG CAT ROUND UP

The hunt for British Big Cats attracts far more newspaper-column inches than any other cryptozoological subject. There are so many of them now that we feel that they should be archived by us in some way, so we are publishing a regular round-up of the stories as they come in. In September 2012 Emma Osborne decided that the Mystery Cat Study Group really deserved a blog of its own within the CFZ Blog Network.

    All the  best

    A SHAMELESS PLUG

POSSIBLY THE COOLEST FREE MUSIC MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD

Gonzo #47 is now available for your delectation. I am very proud to say that we have several really rather cool exclusives this week. We have exclusive interviews with Erik Norlander (in which he not only reveals his new tour dates, but talks about what has happened to Asia featuring John Payne), Steve Ignorant (in which he reveals that he can actually sing, and I try to persuade him to do a Joni Mitchell cover), and Gary Clail (in which he drunkenly claims to be a Roman Emperor, and reveals his absolutely smashing new single) as well as all sorts of other stuff. If that isn't eclectic enough for you I will have to write about Beyoncé after all.

THIS WEEK WE BRING YOU ALSO BRING YOU STUFF ABOUT KEITH CHRISTMAS, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, MR AVERELL, THE ART OF DOING NOTHING, GALAHAD, AUBURN, NEIL NIXON, STRANGE FRUIT, STEVE HACKETT, JUDGE SMITH, BRAND X, MICK ABRAHAMS, MICK FARREN/ANDY COLQUHOUN, GARY WINDO, PHILIP CHEVRON, THE POGUES, ERIK NORLANDER, ASIA FEATURING JOHN PAYNE, STEVE IGNORANT, CRASS, GARY CLAIL, MICHAEL DES BARRES, FRANK ZAPPA, LIBBY LAWES, TREVOR RABIN, PAUL WHITROW, ROGER DEAN, JON DOWNES, CARPE NOCTEM, DISCIPLINE, ALAN MOORE, EIBON LA FURIES, IRON JAWS, BEYONCE, JAKKO, KLF, JOHN HIGGS, JAMMS, ALAN MOORE, DAN WOODING, KING SQUEALER, MAURICE O'MAHONEY, RICK WAKEMAN, ROB AYLING, HAWKWIND, YES, THE NINE HENRYS, AUBURN, LIZ LENTEN, PAUL McCARTNEY, MISS CRYSTAL GRENADE, DAVE BROCK.

    And it is all free.

This is quite simply the best magazine you will ever find that is edited by a mad bloke (and his orange kitten), and produced from a tumbledown potato shed in North Devon. The fact that it is published with Gonzo Multimedia - probably the grooviest record company in the known universe - is merely an added bonus.

Thank you once again to Rob Ayling, the Gonzo grande fromage for allowing me the chance to do something as insane as this magazine, and above all a big thank you to YOU, the readers, for having borne out my assertion that there are indeed people who listen to both Crass and Fairport Convention and like everything from Prog Metal to Folk to Punk to Avant Garde noise. Frunobulax and I are truly not alone.

    Check out this issue

Or, even better, make an old hippy really happy and subscribe here (it truly is free)

    OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today

    http://cryptozoologynews.blogspot.com/

On this day in 2013 Pokemon X and Y will be released worldwide. New pokemon based on cryptids this time round include Noivern (based on Kongamato) and Malamar (based on the sea monk) and a new mega-evolution for Abomasnow (based on the yeti obviously). I'm getting my copy at a midnight launch event (this blog gets written hours in advance sorry for spoiling the magic) and I'm rather excited. In the words of Gary Oak “Smell ya later!”. (this should have lots of baby-boomers reading this scratching their heads and feeling confused as to what this blog was about)
