VON ADDER WRITES

Typhochlaena costae, new to nature
Hi John,

I recently read a piece about your encounter with Werewolves over on Nick Redferns mysterious universe blog and though this is completely unrelated, it reminded me of you so here ya go, check out this lil beauty!

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out-of-place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna took the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN IS BACK

It's Sunday, one of my favourite times,
'cos I get to write some dreadful rhymes
indulging in verbal prestidigitations
and doing the Gonzo blog notifications

I've been away for the last three days
and I spent last night in a pleasant haze
but it was too damn hot to go to bed
so I slept downstairs in a chair instead

But because I'm cool and hip
after only three hours kip
to write my weekly Gonzo verse
(believe me guys it could be worse)

Now I should explain before you ask
or even worse take me to task
I don't write these verses for the money
I do them cos I find them funny

So let's start off with a groovy scene
the latest Gonzo Magazine
has been dispatched to all and sundry
at 10:00 am on a sunny Sunday
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/gonzo-magazine-34.html

And after a long and busy life
we say goodbye to Pete Seeger's wife
his companion of some seventy years
I really have to fight back the tears
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/those-we-have-lost-toshi-seeger-1922.html

And now let's go to Austin, Texas
for some poetry that's infectious
if you think hard I'm sure you'll know it
yup, it's our Thom the World Poet
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/thom-world-poet-daily-poem_14.html

And now exclusive Hawkwind pix
from Davey Curtis who gets his kicks
photographing the band at Holmfirth
(If he had a list it would be worth)
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/exclusive-davey-curtis-sees-hawkwind-at.html

And now a songstrel more than fine
her sister Rachel's a friend of mine
Eliza Carthy is the best
traditional folkie in the West
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/gonzo-track-of-day-eliza-carthybuxton.html

And lastly some Steve Hillage news
a bunch called Zoiks Online enthuse
about his Gonzo live CD
and the groovy bonus DVD
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/zoiks-entheuse-about-steve-hillage.html

Thats's enough from me this Sunday
I hope that you all have a fun day
and that my rhymes didn't make you weep,
but their not bad after brandy and three hours' sleep

*  The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at  jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

*  The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/11/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit-to-print.html

* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

*  Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 53 who - together with his orange cat (who is currently on sick leave in Staffordshire) and two very small kittens (one of whom is also orange) puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?
