CRYPTOLINK: Bigfoot In The Adirondacks?

A word about cryptolinks: We are not responsible for the content of cryptolinks, which are merely links to outside articles that we think are interesting, usually posted up without any comment whatsoever from me.

Check out YouTube and you'll find plenty of video showing what some believe is Bigfoot. There's even this clip - said to be a Sasquatch roaming through the Old Forge area in the Adirondacks. A Utica man, who likes to be called Adirondack Jack Leach, is a believer. He claims to have seen Bigfoot several times while hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks.

"They're about 7 to 7 1/2 feet tall. Their approximate weight is 700 to 750 pounds. They've got big, long arms, a hump back, ape-like gorilla head and face," said Leach. Reported sightings of Bigfoot are nothing new in the north country.

NICK REDFERN HAS GOOD NEWS FOR JOHN KEEL FANS

This is very good news!

Check out this link at the website of Anomalist Books and you'll see that they are soon to republish John Keel's classic book Jadoo.

If any mention of John Keel (pictured above with Greg Bishop) makes you think of Mothman and the Men in Black, well, it should!

But, Jadoo takes the reader much further into the world of Keel - and a much earlier world, too.

Keep checking out the AB website for news of the official publication date. If you haven't read Jadoo, then you're in for a major treat!

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES (CFZ)

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that - whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot, or lake monsters - it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean Zoologist to be interested in. So, after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo, Corinna has taken the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

I'M YER GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN

Today is the first proper working day of the year, and we have hit the ground running (or in my case, hobbling) with a plethora of computer issues, demands for money and all the usual stuff. Hey ho! I have read 2/3 of the Philip Norman biography of Mick Jagger, and I have to say that it doesn't appear that he likes him very much. Hopefully the weather will stay dry long enough for Corinna, mother and I to go our bird watching, and for Corinna to try out the digiscope that I bought her for Christmas. In the meantime, if you are expecting to hear from me today and haven't, computer issues (which have just been irritating and time consuming, but not disastrous at all) have got in the way, but I will get back to you either today or tomorrow!
Starting off the day with our regular visit to Thom the World Poet, and also a quick look at Chinese astrology

*  The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

*  The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo
Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link: http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/11/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit-to-print.html
*  Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures is an old hippy of 53 who - together with his orange cat - puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish and batrachians. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?
