A POLITE REMINDER

I have no wish to censor comments except for those which are blatant spam, but I would like to stress that comments must remain polite. Personal insults, and attacks on other blog readers will not be posted. I want to stress this before we end up descending into another period of unpleasantness.

CARL'S COOL CATERPILLAR

As a fellow lover of Lepidoptera I thought I would send you these images. This magnificent creature is called Citheronia regalis or the Hickory Horned Devil and is the largest north American species, and it emerges into the Regal Moth.

As far a I know it doesn't have any Cryptozoological significance and I am sure you have seen them before but you cant deny they are truly spectacular and well worthy of a "butchers". I personally believe the actual moth is relatively mundane compared to its larval form. Looking forward to the WW.

Only a week to go

With only a week to go, I am at the "why the bloody hell do I ever organise a conference?" stage, but as this happens to me every year I don't suppose that there is anything to worry about. All sorts of things have gone wrong, but we have fixed them all, or at leased sorted out work-arounds, and the fact that Dave and Jess returned to Devon on wednesday has lifted my spirits no end.

See you next weekend...

ARCHIVING PROJECT: General Forteana Part 49

As you know, Oll has been working on the archiving project since early February 2009 and he is now working on a general mish-mash of a section known as `General Forteana`.

This 49th collection once again really is completely uncategoriseable stuff mostly from 1995, including a green cat from Denmark, a bogus gynacologist, an unethical jumbo jet pilot, and lots more. Good stuff.

NIGEL WRIGHT SENT ME THIS: Naomi do not read

Monday morning August 8th, 2011, I was contacted by rancher Miller from Trinidad, Colorado. He informed me that one of his cows had been mutilated over the past weekend. I had investigated one of his previous mutilated cows back on March of 2009. This rancher has had three separate mutilation cases.

The following are my notes from my field investigation.
