Mystery Trail Cam Creature

Mystery Trail Cam Creature
This photo was taken by a motion sensor trail cam in western Kentucky on 10/16/2010 at 10:37 AM. My brother set up the cam and caught the image. He showed it to game wardens and many other people and everyone said they had never seen such an animal.

Some suggested it was some kind of monkey. I heard all this before I saw the photo for myself. When I did finally get to see it, it hit me right off. This is a cat. A house cat. It looks like a big ol' tom cat. The only other suggestion that was made that I might believe is it could be a "Fisher Cat."
I looked it up on the web and viewed many photos and am still not convinced that this is a common house cat out roaming around. The hair parts down the middle of the tail and I have seen many tomcats with tails just like that. They can also have very long tails. I would like to somehow get this mystery solved. While I think it's a tomcat, what do you think?

MUIRHEAD`S MYSTERIES: T H E M E R M A I D - A P O E M

Today, folks, a rare poem. Rare for my blog I mean.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

T H E M E R M A I D

“This shouldn`t have happened” the first mate said,
gesticulating at the catch of the millennium.
Which was thrown back, hair and torso upper-most
into the salty depths and the now mute body sank
heavily down towards her submarine kingdom.

Then a row broke out on deck, the horror
of it all set against cold science and reason.
Ten years later, one sailor rocks mute in his freezing
untidy care home room, the other - he took his life long ago,
incapable of handling the enormity of it all.

Whilst thousands of leagues below, the mermaid`s realm lies serene.

NEIL ARNOLD: Mystery Animal Photo

Hi Jon,

Find attached an image that was sent to me several months back from a chap named Tim, who lives in Dover. He claimed to have caught a large animal on his security camera, but because the image is so vague and distorts the more I zoom on it, I wondered if anyone else could take a look at it. Basically, the witness said that it could have been a large cat - puma - the 'animal' is in the left-hand corner near the gate and only appears as a sandy-coloured head. I believe it to be a fox and because I believe such a photo to be completely useless as evidence, he wasn't too happy and so went elsewhere - as predicted - with his evidence. The image was taken at night, and to me proves that too much of this kind of evidence is being taken seriously, because even if by remote chance this animal is a puma, who really cares when it is so hazy? I attempted, as did the witness, to open the image up on a Word document for better viewing.

Maybe a CFZ reader has a better programme to analyse the still. Let me know what you think

THE LATEST IMAGE BEING TOUTED AS PROOF OF SOMETHING OR OTHER BY `THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE` BRIGADE

I don't think that stories like this one from the Daily Mail, no less, do the subject of cryptozoology any favours at all. It is supposed to have been taken by a deer hunter who "said he was lying in wait in the pitch black when a ghoulish spectre filled his sights. Its eyes glowing in the light of his torch, it leapt from the undergrowth and flashed a look at the camera before vanishing back into the bushes".
