The Gonzo Daily - Monday
So why is it so late in the day? Or rather, why is it so much later in the
day than when I usually sit down to write my blogs. Well, although I am sure
there will be those who will imagine that the words "overslept", "hangover" and
possibly "mad as a bagful of cheese" might come into play here. Well if they
did, wash yer mind out with soap. Nope, I was in the office at the normal time,
but I got sidetracked preparing a fascinating article for the Yearbook about the
way that Dutch newspapers treated the subject of the Orang Pendek back in the
twenties and thirties, and lost track of time. Then I interviewed the author of
a fascinating book on George Harrison, and then the guitarist from Osibisa, and
a psychic friend of mine about Cornish plant folklore, and then chatted to Beth
from Hartland Wildlife Rescue, and then sat with mama-in-law, for half an hour,
before returning to my study and discovering that it was nearly six o'clock. So
there you have it.

Now, I have a favour to ask. Somehow my computer has eaten several things
that were intended for this Yearbook. If you were the chap who sent me a thing
about omens involving foxes, can you resend it to me. It was fascinating but
somehow has been digested by the voracious maw of my various computers. Drop me

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an
old hippy of 56 who - together with an infantile orange cat named after a song
by Frank Zappa, and two small kittens, one totally coincidentally named after
one of the Manson Family, purely because she squeaks, puts it all together from
a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he
shares with various fish. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his
bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of
social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the infantile orange cat, and the
adventurous kittens?
