CRYPTOLINK: Is Bigfoot in Britain? Mysterious figure lurking in Lincolnshire woods is claimed to be mystery beast

A word about cryptolinks: we are not responsible for the content of cryptolinks, which are merely links to outside articles that we think are interesting (sometimes for the wrong reasons), usually posted up without any comment whatsoever from me.

Bigfoot
Evidence or bogus? Adam Bird reckons he may have caught Bigfoot on camera
Could these startling pictures be evidence that Bigfoot is lurking in the British countryside?
The eerie image appears to show a large shadowy figure looming menacingly behind a tree in a Lincolnshire woods.
Bigfoot enthusiast Adam Bird, 31, captured the picture while out walking in Friskney nature reserve and said he was stunned to spot the shadowy figure staring back at him from the photo.

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES

What has Corinna's column of fortean bird news got to do with Cryptozoology?

Well, everything actually!

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out-of-place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in.

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN RECOUPS

The Gonzo Daily - Thursday

It is the full moon this week so whatever always happens will - no doubt - happen again. Something most peculiar happened at 6:00 am. I fell out of bed and woke up with a start on the floor. What I think happened was that I turned over in my sleep, and Prudence, trying to get to that little bit of warm mattress where I had been sleeping got me at the wrong angle and levered me out of bed. Archimedes apparently said: "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world." I would add to that: "Give me an intensely strong and affectionate dog who looks like a small pygmy hippo and I will push any fat hippie out of bed".

I have never understood Twitter. Dear Shoshannah, my eldest stepdaughter has tried to explain it to me on innumerable occasions. However Doug Harr (or should I say @douglasharr) has basically dragged me kicking and screaming into the modern world, and Gonzo Weekly now has a twitter account. If you want to follow us we are at @gonzoweekly.

Finally, many thanks to Dave McMann for the timely reminder. I hadn't exactly forgotten, but with the phases of the moon being where they are at the moment, it had indeed slipped my mind.

* The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

* The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link: www.gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/…/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit

* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

* Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 55 who - together with an infantile orange cat named after a song by Frank Zappa puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish, and sometimes a small Indian frog. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the infantile orange cat?
