MUIRHEAD`S MYSTERIES:THE WHAPPERKNOCKER AND THE CUBA - TWO CRYPTIDS FROM CONNECTICUT AND NEW ENGLAND
In August 1878 George Chapman, of
whom I and as far as I`m aware posterity know nothing, wrote to the American
magazine Forest and Stream about 2 mystery animals called the Whapperknocker
(Connecticut) and the Cuba (New England) mentioned in the “General History of

The headline is AN EXTINCT ANIMAL but the story covers
several animals,especialy the Cuba.Not to be confused with the tropical
Socialist paradise of the same name.

history of Connecticut,from its first settlement under George Fenwick, to its
latest period of amity with Great Britain prior to the revolution; including a
description of the country, and many curious and interesting anecdotes.With an
appendix,pointing out the causes of the rebellion in America;together with the

The hunt for British Big Cats attracts far more newspaper-column inches than any other cryptozoological subject. There are so many of them now that we feel that they should be archived by us in some way, so we are publishing a regular round-up of the stories as they come in. We were up late last night waiting for the
arrival of younger stepdaughter (Olivia) and her new beau (who appears to be
delightful). For some reason I (quite possibly not unconnected with the
activities of the kittens) couldn't sleep, so at about 3:00 I got up again, came
downstairs and wrote a large chunk of this weekend's Gonzo Weekly which will
(BTW) be out later today or tomorrow. I have spent much of the last two days
reading and re-reading a remarkable book about the KLF and their links (witting
and unwitting) to chaos magic, The Discordians, and various other things that I
know something about. Various acquaintances of mine are bit players in the book,
and the whole thing makes sense of things which have been puzzling, and vaguely
troubling me for decades. Watch this space!

He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?
