A PARTIAL ALBINO ROOK (OR AT LEAST WE THINK IT'S A ROOK)

This afternoon we took custody of a corvid from Beth at Hartland Wildlife. We think that it is a young rook, but it can't fly (possibly due to nerve damage) and it has white speckles all over, which are presumably partial albinism. Identifications please...

A BRIEF ADMINISTRATIVE THINGY

We will be away at a family wedding later this week. We plan to leave on Thursday and return on Saturday. Graham will be in charge in our absence, and Helen will have the kittens and Morticia. We will not be taking laptops with us, so please email Graham with any urgent queries.

Next weekend's Gonzo Weekly will be out on Sunday.

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna took the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

Still trying to repair the bug at Frontiers of Anthropology and Cedar and Willow. Last attempted posting at FOA came out unreadable gibberish.

Best Wishes, Dale D.

THE GONZO BLOG DOO DAH MAN IS A LITTLE WORSE FOR WEAR

It's sunday, you should take a look
cos we're just about to adopt a baby rook
with nerve damage so it cannot fly
and just in case you wonder why
we're strange like that and will always help
those that squawk or purr or yelp
and also I always find the time,
to do the sunday blogs in rhyme
mainly because it amuses me,
but also cos I'm OCD
and it kind of comforts a loony freak
to do the same things every week
So now let's start with the Gonzo scene
issue 33 of our magazine
is available now for you to read
I hope you like it (yes indeed)
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/gonzo-magazine-33.html
And now I have (from me to you)
a really rather good review
of The Dutch Woodstock DVD/CD
which sounds and looks damn good to me
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/chris-squire-talks-yes-albums-tour-in.html
And now a bassman (can't you guess)
it's an interview with Chris from Yes
talking about their latest tour
and other stuff that went before
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/chris-squire-talks-yes-albums-tour-in.html
Roy Wood is playing a benefit well
for an old mate who's quite unwell
wth others from the Birmingham music biz
what a lovely chap he is
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/roy-wood-to-rock-it-up-for-wizzard-pal.html
Our Track of the Day (just as you wish)
is from the bloke that they call 'Fish'
I believe his real name is 'Derek'
but his nom de guerre is more generic
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/gonzo-track-of-day-fish-gentlemans.html
And finally to Austin we must go,
to see a man who we all know
his rhymes are great and we all know it
yes, it's Thomas the World Poet
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2013/07/thom-world-poet-daily-poem_7.html
And that's enough from this rhyming freak
The poems will be back next week

*  The Gonzo Daily is a two way process. If you have any news or want to write for us, please contact me at  jon@eclipse.co.uk. If you are an artist and want to showcase your work, or even just say hello please write to me at gonzo@cfz.org.uk. Please copy, paste and spread the word about this magazine as widely as possible. We need people to read us in order to grow, and as soon as it is viable we shall be invading more traditional magaziney areas. Join in the fun, spread the word, and maybe if we all chant loud enough we CAN stop it raining. See you tomorrow...

*  The Gonzo Daily is - as the name implies - a daily online magazine (mostly) about artists connected to the Gonzo Multimedia group of companies. But it also has other stuff as and when the editor feels like it. The same team also do a weekly newsletter called - imaginatively - The Gonzo Weekly. Find out about it at this link:
http://gonzo-multimedia.blogspot.com/2012/11/all-gonzo-news-wots-fit-to-print.html

* We should probably mention here, that some of our posts are links to things we have found on the internet that we think are of interest. We are not responsible for spelling or factual errors in other people's websites. Honest guv!

*  Jon Downes, the Editor of all these ventures (and several others) is an old hippy of 53 who - together with his orange cat (who is currently on sick leave in Staffordshire) and two very small kittens (one of whom is also orange) puts it all together from a converted potato shed in a tumbledown cottage deep in rural Devon which he shares with various fish. He is ably assisted by his lovely wife Corinna, his bulldog/boxer Prudence, his elderly mother-in-law, and a motley collection of social malcontents. Plus.. did we mention the orange cat?
