  Author Col Bailey says he has spotted the fabled Tasmanian tiger twice in his lifetime.

 THE Tasmanian tiger appeared to Col Bailey for the second time in 1995, while he was taking a leak in the bush. 

``It shot out of some ferns behind me - I thought it was a cattle dog at first,'' he said.

``But then I was face-to-face with the darn thing.''

Mr Bailey said an old bushman had told him exactly which part of the Weld River Valley he would find the fabled creature. 

``But I just went into lock down,'' he said.

CRYPTOLINK: New Chupacabra story surfaces in Puerto Rico

The tale describes an encounter wih a strange creature that took place earlier this month in Guayama.

According to the report, Rey D. Rodríguez ( nicknamed 'Chaka' ) and his nephew had been using a pickup truck to find and round-up his cattle. Night had fallen and the men were using the truck's lights along with a powerful flashlight to help them find the animals. As they were leaving, Chaka spotted a pair of red eyes darting through the darkness. Turning the truck around, they pursued the animal believing it to be one of the cows, but when they finally came face to face with the creature it turned out to be something altogether unexpected.

Described as an orange/yellowish humanoid with red eyes and quills down its back, the creature dashed in to the undergrowth as they approached. Chaka attempted to pursue the intruder and managed to keep up for a time but it was ultimately too quick for him and eventually disappeared.

Did two young boys stumble across the decomposing remains of a Bigfoot foot in the Lakeville, Massachusetts woods this week?

On March 29th Sgt. Steven Leanues arrived to the wooded area just off Pantheon Road where the boys had described to local authorities what they found during their outing. What Leanues discovered was what looked to be a strange, partially decomposed foot, possibly belonging to a human being.

Enterprise News reports that the strange foot was sent by Lakeville Police Chief Frank Alvilhiera to a medical examiner, but the returning results caused more questions than answers. The foot, it seems, is not human at all.

FORTEAN BIRD NEWS FROM THE WATCHER OF THE SKIES

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna has taken the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.
