The Centre for Fortean Zoology Yearbook is an annual collection of papers and essays too long and detailed for publication in the CFZ Journal, Animals & Men. 

With contributions from both well-known researchers, and relative newcomers to the field, the Yearbook provides a forum where new theories can be expounded, and work on little-known cryptids discussed.

This year's volume was greatly delayed by the computer problems we had earlier in the year. But it is out now, and phew its a corker!

In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot or lake monsters, it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean zoologist to be interested in. So after about six months of regular postings on the main bloggo Corinna has taken the plunge and started a 'Watcher of the Skies' blog of her own as part of the CFZ Bloggo Network.

THE GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN IS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE

Today is the funeral of Matt Osborne's mother. She didn't want anyone to attend, so I am respecting her wishes. However she was a kind and gentle lady and I shall miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Matthew, Charlotte and Emma on this sad day. In more cheerful news, I had a long telephone conversation with Rob Ayling last night about some very exciting releases from Gonzo in the next few months, and the 2013 CFZ Yearbook is finally available. Hooray!
