ANDREW MAY: Words from the Wild Frontier

News and stories from the remoter fringes of the CFZ blogosphere...

From Nick Redfern's World of Whatever:

From CFZ Australia:

I'M YER GONZO BLOG DOO-DAH MAN

I really can't believe that a whole week has passed since the Weird Weekend. As Matt Osborne said to me last night, there are only 51 weeks to go until the next one! In the meantime I am enjoying what I think is a well-earned rest....

We start off once again with a visit to Rob's old mate Thom the World Poet

The new Jefferson Starship 4CD live album from their Roswell UFO Festival appearance back in 2009 is going great guns. I am looking forward to hearing it

I am very impressed by the acclaimed 'Lost Broadcasts' series of DVDs. Not only are they valuable historical documents, but they contain some great music. This Captain Beefheart review bears me out.

Hawkwind's Dave Brock and Hawkwind alumnus Huw Lloyd-Langton made a recent acoustic charity appearance at the event that used to be known as the Sidmouth Folk Festical.

My lovely wife Corinna does not just write about stuff on our own range of blogs. She has some arcane ones of her own, and today - in passing - she writes about Rick Wakeman. As I think she is a bloody good writer, here is a link...

I really enjoy reading Helen McCookerybook's musings - like this account of what happened to her the other evening.

And that my friends is that. See ya tomorrow!

OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today

http://cryptozoologynews.blogspot.com/
On this day in 1835 the New York Sun unleashed “The Great Moon Hoax” (not to be confused with the moon landing hoax conspiracy, which is a different thing entirely and not as funny). Read about it here in one of my CFZ blog articles from back in the day: http://forteanzoology.blogspot.co.uk/2010/03/crypto-cons-great-moon-hoax.html

And now the news:
Cuba-US Swimmer Quits After Jellyfish Stings
TV reptile expert Mark O'Shea rushed to hospital a...
Skull pushes back clock on early human migration
Puppet show to revive Tassie tiger
Seabirds eating more plastic than ever before
Elusive Bowhead whales revealed by undersea microp...
The secret life of seabirds
Bright red bird escapes from Edinburgh Zoo

I'm not entirely convinced by this depiction of life on the moon either...

Many scientists make their careers out of searching for the seemingly unfindable. The Higgs Boson, dark matter, the secret, hidden pieces of our universe. Other scientists search for things that probably aren’t real at all. Like yetis. Researchers are about to embark on a quest to determine once and for all whether or not Yetis exist.
