On this day in 1888 the “From Hell” letter was sent to George Lusk the head of the Whitechapel vigilance committee. This letter is considered by many Ripperologists and experts to be the only letter that was probably sent by the killer himself and it is thought the human kidney that accompanied the letter was that of Catherine Eddows.
