UPDATE
We are almost back to normal again. Basically, when Graham re-installed windows on the main CFZ computer yesterday, it was OK, but as soon as we started to put other programmes on it, it started to mess up. At tea time we decided that it was past saving, and so we transferred all the remaining data onto the back-up computer which until now we had used for video and sound editing only. It does mean that we have no back-up computer, and will not have until after the Weird Weekend when we shall buy another one.
Because of all our data back ups, practically nothing was lost except one of my address books which waslost because we saved the wrong one :(
We should be back to normal by the end of the day.

OLL LEWIS: Yesterday's News Today

On this day in 1542 Richard Grenville was born. Grenville (who lived in the CFZ's own town of Bideford) helped to defend Britain during the Spanish Armada, but will forever be remembered for his part in the failed new world colony of Roanoke Island aka 'the lost colony'. Mystery surrounds the fate of the final members of the colony, there are theories they integrated themselves into Native American populations, that they were killed by disease or that they attempted to sail back to England. The whole incident inspired the Al Stuart song Lord Grenville:

UPDATE
It looks like the main computer is unsalvageable, and that we shall have to start again. We will be reformatting the disk and installing windows and then all the other programmes we need. So today I shall be largely out of action...
