The CFZ wiring seems to have decided to celebrate the advent of Corinna's birthday by throwing a wobbly, so Graham is intermittently having to take the power offline. So, the Updates to Usenet will, perforce, be delayed this evening. However, on the good news front, after having been unemployed for less than ten days, Olivia and Ivan have both managed to get jobs. Recession? Ha! Not on my shift!

CFZ ARCHIVING PROJECT - Big Cats part 8

This 8th trenche is a mixed bag, including stories from Devon, and the United States, and mostly dating from the mid 1990s. LAKE HARRIET MONSTER

According to http://www.lakecreature.com/: 'Once upon a time, in a far away land, a young Lake Creature left her parents' nest and went searching for a home of her own. "Where will I live?" thought the Lake Creature as she began her adventure. "It must be someplace very special. It should be friendly and beautiful. It should have lush green landscapes, fragrant flower beds and scenic byways. And most of all, of course, it must have lakes – lots and lots and lots of lakes!"

Suddenly, on July 8th, 2009, the mysterious Lake Creature appeared on Lake Harriet in Minneapolis!'

On Wednesday morning, a dinosaur sculpture appeared in the southeast corner of Lake Harriet.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation officials say the project is not a city-endeavour but instead the work of a private group. That group is already advertising its website -- http://www.lakecreature.com/ -- and promising a big "reveal" on the website next Thursday.

OLL LEWIS SENT THIS

Oll sent down this video of people in the Welsh hills doing strange things with sheep. I don't know how much of this is real, but it is pretty damn extraordinary. There is only one problem. According to YouTube, eight and a half million people have seen this video since it was posted in March, so the odds are that some - at least - of the bloggo readership have already seen it....
